GAURISAGAR: Mridul Baruah, a young and energetic journalist of Teok passed away on August 9 at Jorhat Mission Hospital due to jaundice and liver ailment. He was 41. He had been undergoing treatment in the hospital since August 2.

He is survived by his wife, an 11-year old daughter, parents and a host of relatives. On Wednesday morning, people from various walks of life assembled at his residence and bid a tearful adieu to the journalist. Jorhat Press Club, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Tai Ahom Chatra Santha, Dergaon e-Media Association, and various other organizations have condoled his demise.
