Sec 144 CrPC promulgated by Chirang District Magistrate Gautam Talukdar

Kokrajhar: The District Magistrate of Chirang, Gautam Talukdar and District Magistrate of Kokrajhar, Partha Pratim Mazumder have promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr. PC throughout the Chirang and Kokrajhar Election District, prohibiting entry of unauthorized persons or unnecessary crowding in an around the periphery of 100 metre-radius of premises of polling stations, including carrying of unauthorized and suspected objects, mobile phones and electronic devices by the voters to the polling stations. The order is necessitated to prevent law and order problem and breach of peace and tranquillity, resulting to loss of life and property and affecting the smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha election, 2019. This order has become effective with immediate effect and will remain in operation till the completion of the polling process on April 23.
