DIBRUGARH: The District Magistrate, Biswajeet Pegu, by an order issued on Wednesday has promulgated Sec 144 under Cr. PC in the entire district, prohibiting collection of donation of any kind by any individual or group from any individual, business establishments or forcible collection by blocking the road or any forms of extortion. The order has been issued in order to maintain peace and tranquility in the society and to maintain law and order and social harmony among the people in the district. It will remain effective in the entire district till the next order is issued. Violation of the order in any form by any individual will be punishable under sec 188 of IPC.
