Secondary teachers to wear black badges on January 13 in protest of CAA

Biswanath Chariali: All the teachers and employees working in the high schools of the State affiliated to Assam Madhyamik Sikshak aru Karmachari Santha will wear black badges on January 13 in protest of the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. This was decided in the executive meeting of the teachers’ body held at Town Hindi Vidyalaya, Golaghat recently. In a press release signed by Santha’s president Bhubaneswar Nath and general secretary, Govinda Chandra Kalita informed this. The speakers dwelt at length about the present situation of Assam and passed a resolution against the CAA in the greater interest of the people and State. The meeting also thoroughly discussed the Assam Education Act, 2019 and urged the government to do away with the anomalies detected in the Act.
