Section 144 CrPC imposed in Sonitpur district

Tezpur: Anticipating breach of public peace and tranquillity in Sonitpur district by certain anti-social elements, Additional District Magistrate Rohan Kr Jha, has under provisions of Section 144 CrPC, prohibited the assembly of five or more persons in public places without prior permission; carrying of weapons of any kind by any person in public places, playgrounds, cinema halls, and auditoriums and carrying of any inflammable objects, including Mashal, candle, and effigy to be burnt by any individual or group of persons at any public place, road, in front of government offices, residence of any public servant and renowned person and public representative of Sonitpur district.
