Regarding women empowerment issue, the Chief Minister said that his government had implemented various schemes which were beneficial to enhance the living standard of women. “Our government has not only empowered the women economically, but also secured them from anti-social elements and criminals. Some crimes related to women took place and the culprits have been given strict punishment due to the effective steps taken by our government,” he added.
Sonowal further slammed the Congress for the foreigners’ issue in the State. “The Congress had done cheap politics at the Centre and the State with regard to the foreigners’ issue. But the BJP governments have initiated prudent steps by establishing co-ordination and integration among the people in order to mitigate this burning problem,” said.
He appealed to the voters to cast their votes in favour of the BJP in order to strengthen the State Government. “The BJP and our government are firm to build a corruption-free Assam with due development, fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people. So, I request you to cast your valuable votes in favour of peace, prosperity and integration,” said Sonowal during the campaign meeting where Tezpur MP Ram Prashad Sarmah and Bihpuriya MLA Debananda Hazarika also spoke.
