In a major development before Parliamentary election stated to be held next year, the Congress received a major boost when former president of Dongkamukam Press Club (DPC) and senior media person Longki Enghee joined the Indian National Congress (INC) on the first anniversary celebration of Bharat Jodo Yatra held at WKADCC heado ffice Dongkamukam, West Karbi Anglong.

DONGKAMUKAM: In a major development before Parliamentary election stated to be held next year, the Congress received a major boost when former president of Dongkamukam Press Club (DPC) and senior media person Longki Enghee joined the Indian National Congress (INC) on the first anniversary celebration of Bharat Jodo Yatra held at WKADCC heado ffice Dongkamukam, West Karbi Anglong.

He was warmly welcomed by APCC observer and former CEM of KAAC, Joyram Engleng. The programme was also attended by chairman of SEVA Dal Assam State, Dip Bayan, former MLA Klengdoon Engti, APCC media cell Bipul Chakraborty, Congress leader Bijoy Teron and others.

Former CEM Joyram Engleng said that the situation in Manipur was proof of the failure of the present BJP-led government. “Prime Minister Modi could have averted heavy loss if he had taken immediate steps but he woke up from his deep slumber after almost 3 months. This shows he is neglects the Northeast,” he said. “Corruption is at its peak in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council,” he further said.

Earlier, a Pad Yatra by Congress activists was taken out in Dongkamukam town with slogans and placards in their hands.
