JORHAT: At least seven persons, including three women from two tea gardens, have been hospitalized at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital after falling ill while working in the garden all day. All seven are out of danger, said JMCH sources here on Monday.
As the temperature crosses over 41 degree Celsius in several parts of the Upper Assam zone, maximum outdoor activities were paralyzed forcing people to remain indoors or sit under tree sheds. The day was the hottest in the month of June in the past five years as recorded in the meteorological department at Assam Agricultural University, said official sources here.
