GORESWAR: Several villages in Tamulpur civil sub-division have been flooded following an incessant downpour in the Baksa district. Residents of these villages have been forced to set up temporary shelters on high lands after flood water enters their houses and farms. The water level of Puthimari and Barnadi rivers, flowing through Tamulpur sub-division, has crossed the danger level.

According to the information received, due to heavy rainfall in Bhutan hills in the last few days, the country released water from Kurishu dam resulting in a threat to the Tamulpur civil sub-division area from the Puthimari and Barnadi rivers. Villages like Niz-kasula, Chenigaon, Gandhibari, Nagrijuli, Kauli, Kumarikata, etc. have been flooded.
