TANGLA: Muslims around the Tangla town observed ‘Shab-e-barat’ or the ‘night of deliverance’ on Tuesday. Shab-e-Barat, falls on the 14th day of the Islamic month of Shaban.

Muslims pray in preparation for Ramzan and seek forgiveness of their sins. Special prayers and sermons marked the occasion which were held at Bara Masjid and Banseria Jame Masjid of the town.

Houses and streets were also illuminated by candles and strands of electric bulbs to provide a joyful ambiance to the festival. As per Islamic belief ,on the night of Shab-E-Barat, the Almighty writes the destinies of all humans for the coming year by taking into account the deeds committed by them in the past. Legend also says that on this night the Prophet visits each house and relieves the pains of suffering humanity. The night of Shab-E-Barat also commemorates the entry of Prophet Muhammad into the city of Mecca. Many visited graveyards and remembered their dear ones.
