SILCHAR : Amid nation-wide controversy and tension, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' will release on January 25 in two theatres. Though Bajrang Dal had reportedly decided to refrain from stalling the show following censorship of the controversial part, 'Besharam Rang' song, Cachar police was on strict vigil. In this uncertain backdrop, advanced booking for the much-touted Shah Rukh-Deepika Padukone starrer had begun here in lukewarm mood. An employee of Gold Cinema Silchar said, "Till now no organisation had asked them to stop the screening of Pathaan and they already opened the ticket counter for advanced booking.
However the multiplex did not bear any posters of 'Pathaan' even today. However the single screen theatre in the town where 'Pathaan' would release had posters of the film which had stirred nation-wide controversy over a scene where Padukone was seen wearing a saffron bikini. Meanwhile, Cachar SP Nomal Mahato had summoned Mithun Nath, a Bajrang Dal leader in his office to know whether the Hindu outfit had any plan to boycott the film. Nath later informed the media that till now they had not received any instructions from the central leadership.
