Silchar-Imphal flight to resume after 10 years
After almost a decade, a daily Silchar-Imphal flight will resume from November 25.

SILCHAR: After almost a decade, a daily Silchar-Imphal flight will resume from November 25. The direct flight, being operated by Alliance Air, will reduce the journey between the Manipur capital and Silchar by minimum 3 hours as the current route is either via Kolkata or Shillong.
In a Twitter post, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, "In order to expand the network of aviation in the North East, a direct flight between Imphal and Silchar is being started on 25 November 2022. The flight will bring convenience and time savings in regional travel. Along with this the development of the North East will gain momentum."
Sources in Silchar Airport said, the flight will leave Imphal at 12.25 pm and reach Silchar at 1.05 pm and the return flight from Kumbhirgram airport will take off daily at 1.30 pm and land at 2.10 pm. Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, in a tweet, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Scindia for resuming the direct flight after 10 years.
