Guwahati: Assam's singing sensation Zubeen Garg recently wore the Rajasthan Royals' jersey to show his support for his nephew, Riyan Parag, and cheered for the cricketer and his team.

In a video message posted by Zubeen Garg himself, the singer can be seen cheering for his nephew.

My nephew Riyan Parag is playing in this team. All the best wishes for Riyan and Rajasthan Royals. Three cheers for Riyan and Rajasthan Royals."

Riyan Parag is a world-cup medalist from Assam who played a significant role in India's successful Under-19 triumph in the 2018 World Cup when he was just 16 years old. He made his Twenty20 debut for Assam in January 2017. He is a right-handed batsman and can bowl useful leg-breaks.

The second phase of Vivo IPL 2021 began on September 19 in Dubai.

The tournament, which had started in April, had been suspended midway after many players and staff tested positive for COVID-19. A total of 29 games have been played and the rest of the event was postponed to September. The next 31 games will be played by Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi between September 19 to October 15.

Right before the games had been suspended, Delhi Capitals had claimed the top spot by winning six matches out of eight
