Sivasagar DC asks ONGC to control compressor level

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav visited Lakhmoni area under Demow Revenue Circle along with Demow Circle Officer, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) representatives and officials of the Pollution Control Board.

The local villagers had submitted a public petition to the Deputy Commissioner on March 23 regarding the high-intensity sounds and vibrations caused by the gas compressor project located in the Kukurachowa Deodhai area. On the basis of the complaint, the Deputy Commissioner visited the area and held a discussion with the villagers on the issue and met several families at their houses.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of ONGCL to control and maintain ‘Lower Compressor RPM levels’ and urged the villagers to inform him again in case of unbearable sound and vibration recur.
