Sivasagar DC launches Project 'Kuhi' under mission 'Soulful Sivasagar'

SIVASAGAR: The very first day of the year 2020 began with some unique and innovative initiatives. 'Kuhi' (meaning 'the bud') is one such initiative launched on January 1, 2020, under the mission 'Soulful Sivasagar' by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya at Sivasagar Civil Hospital, Joysagar.

Under the project 'Kuhi', Deputy Commissioner distributed two saplings each to the six mothers of newborn girl children at Sivasagar Civil Hospital. Amongst the two saplings, one was fruit tree sapling symbolizing nutrition and the other timber sapling for investment for the future.

Further, two such saplings were gifted to the mother of a girl child who was born early on Wednesday morning in the hospital. Assistant Commissioners Gauri Priya Deori, Manali Prasad Rajak, and Manisha Kalita were also present on the occasion.

During her visit to the Sivasagar Civil Hospital, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the maternity wards, operation theatre, Surgical, and Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (SNICU) and other wards and took stock of the facilities provided there.
