SIVASAGAR: The Career Counseling and Guidance Cell, Gargaon College, in collaboration with the IQAC Gargaon College, organized an interaction programme of the students of the college with Megha Nidhi Dahal, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar, on the topic 'Prospects and Preparations for Competitive Examinations'.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of Gargaon College. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Mahanta focussed on the need for proper goal and planning, motivation as well as dedication for preparing of the civil service examinations. Deputy Commissioner Dahal, in the lively interaction session with the students, narrated his journey of becoming an IAS officer and highlighted on the comprehensive strategies of preparing for the civil service examinations.

In the course of his deliberation, Dahal spoke about the importance of framing a well devised study plan, time management, motivation and overcoming the limitations of the mind. He also responded to the queries put by the students related to the topic.

The programme was also graced by Sabyasachi Kashyap, Additional Deputy Commissioner and SDO (Civil) Nazira. Kashyap, in his motivational speech illuminated the strategies as well as the need to acquaint properly with examination syllabus, pattern, timeline and eligibility criteria of the civil service aspirants.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Dilip Kumar Deka, Associate Professor of the Department of Geography and coordinator of Career Counseling and Guidance Cell, Gargaon College.
