Sivasagar DM MS Lakshmi Priya bans collection of donation under Section 144 CrPC

SIVASAGAR: The District Magistrate of Sivasagar Dr. MS Lakshmi Priya vide an order issued on October 23 has promulgated some restrictions under Section 144 CrPC. As per the order, financial collection (Chanda), forceful subscription, donations, roadside collection, extortion in any manner or form from any person, business establishment, office or intimidation of such kind by any person or organization for such collection, etc. have been strictly prohibited in the entire district.

This order has been imposed keeping in view the law and order situation and anticipating a breach of public peace and tranquility owing to various reasons including an unauthorized collection of funds etc. The order has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further order. Any violation of this order will be punishable under Section 188 IPC.
