Six cattle smugglers held, 19 cattle seized in Palasbari

In a special operation, a team of Chhaygaon police, led by officer in-charge Kapil Pathak, nabbed three cattle smugglers who were transporting 10 cattle illegally on Wednesday.

PALASBARI: In a special operation, a team of Chhaygaon police, led by officer in-charge Kapil Pathak, nabbed three cattle smugglers who were transporting 10 cattle illegally on Wednesday.

They have been identified as Rafiqul Miya (25), son of Dhola Miya from Champupara village, Devaraj Das (20), son of Kalicharan Das from Chamaria under Boko constituency and Mahibul Islam (30), son of Md. Naimuddin from Bbulukabari village under Chhaygaon constituency. Police sources said that a TATA Xenon vehicle (AS-01-KC-1823) was also seized.

On the other hand, the Chhaygaon police nabbed three cattle smugglers who were transporting nine cattle illegally on Tuesday morning. The three smugglers have been identified as Samad Ali (37) from Andhetari village under Boko constituency, Saiful Islam (27) from Tukrapara village under Chhaygaon constituency and Salimuddin (26) from Tukrapara village under Chhaygaon constituency. They were travelling from Boko to Ukiam in a Tata Xenon vehicle (AS-25-CC-5929).
