Six houses gutted in fire at Naharkatia Amulapatti

NAHARKATIA: A fire broke out at Naharkatia Amulapatti on Wednesday afternoon. All the houses were completely gutted in the fire that broke out in six rented houses owned by Deb Baruah, a resident of Amolapatti. Police personnel rushed to the spot and two fire service vehicles rushed to the spot and doused the fire. But all the houses were completely gutted in fire. The people staying in the rented accommodation were Kedar Sahani, Dashrath Kurmi, Yogendra Sahni, Shivaji Sahani, Bikaro Sahani and Birendra Sahani. The extent of damage caused by the fire is yet to be ascertained, but the fire is said to have taken place from the kitchen of the tenants. Besides, ten thousand rupees in cash of a person named Kader Sahni was burnt in the fire.
