BISWANATH CHARIALI: Continuing the trend of capacity building among the Self Help Group (SHG) members to support them in sustainable income generation, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Assam RO has sanctioned one LEDP Skill Training Programme on Cutting and Advance Tailoring to be implemented by CADAT, an NGO from Biswanath Chariali, at Magani under Chaiduar Development Block in Gohpur subdivision. The programme aims to train 90 SHG members over a period of fifteen days. The programme also aims to support the SHG members in setting up micro enterprises on tailoring through credit linkage.
The said training programme was inaugurated on Monday in the presence of Preetam Kumar Nath, DDM, NABARD, Sonitpur and Biswanath, Sobita Goyary, president of Krishnapur Gaon Panchayat, Dhiren Deka and Manoranjan Hazarika, chairman and secretary, respectively, CADAT, Jasmin Doley, BPM, Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), Chaiduar Block and Chatrang CLF and others.
During the ceremony, DDM, NABARD highlighted the need of setting up micro enterprises by the SHG members in order to achieve sustainable socio-economic development and women empowerment. Nityananda Baishya, LDM, Biswanath explained the need of being financially literate and having good credit behaviour.
