GOLAGHAT: The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent pandemic has affected many lives. A widow named Anju Chobor lives with her three minor children in Wokha Tea Estate at line No. 7 under Golaghat constituency. Her husband died few years back. Due to poverty they lived in an unhygienic room covered with only a 10-foot long tarpaulin on the roof. No government scheme has covered this family.

Even the tea garden authority did not provide any facility because they are not garden workers in the tea garden. Anju Chobor faced a lot of problems managing food for her children during COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. During this crisis, young social worker Jayanta Kumar Goswami extended a helping hand to the family.

He provided financial help for constructing a new house for the family. Finally, a house with tin roof was made for the poor widow and her children with a few days. People have appreciated this noble gesture by the social worker.
