DIBRUGARH: The Central Committee of Sodou Asom Muttock Yuba Chatra Parishad (SAMYCP) expressed their resentment over the inquiry process of the recently busted BVFCL urea scam, submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through the Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh with a demand to institute a high-level inquiry committee for proper and clean enquiry.

SAMYCP president Satya Gohain and assistant secretary, Diganta Dutta alleging fault in the entire inquiry process following seizure of illegal transported 990 bags (44.55 tons) urea at Rack Point at Tinsukia recently.

Both SAMYCP leaders stated that a section of unscrupulous officials, as alleged by local people, had been indulging in large-scale illegal transportation of urea from https://www.sentinelassam.com/north-east-india-news/assam-news/fir-lodged-against-36-beneficiaries-of-pmay-in-tinsukia-553846in connivance with some contractors from a considerable period. SAMYCP welcomed BVFCL authority's decision to institute a departmental enquiry on the entire development and involvement of their officials, and urged the authority to make the enquiry officer's name and his designation public in the interest of impartial and clean enquiry.

Both the SAMYCP leaders expressed dismay over the State Government's inability to bring all those involved in the multi-crore urea scam of the BVFCL, the only gas based fertilizer corporation in the country, to task and cautioned to launch State-wide democratic agitation for the interest of local peasants who have no other option except to buy urea in black market paying higher price for no fault of theirs.
