LAKHIMPUR: Sodou Brahma Dharma Samiti has rescheduled the dates of its 47th conference to be held at Hojuwa under Baska district. As per the new schedule, the event will be held from February 28 to March 2. The organization took this decision after United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) and Bodo Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) requested the organization to reschedule the dates for the event.
Notably, Sodou Brahma Dharma Samiti scheduled the dates to hold its 47th conference from February 25 to February 27. But extensive preparations are underway at present to organize the 8th annual conference of the UBPO at Langhin in Karbi Anglong district on the same dates as per resolution adopted one year ago. Under such circumstances, UBPO and BKWAC made an earnest request to Sodou Brahma Dharma Samiti to change the schedule of its 47th conference in view of possible problems to be wreaked during the two major events of the same community on the same dates.
As per initiative taken by former UBPO general secretary-cum-present BKWAC Executive Member (Education) Anil Basumatary, Sodou Brahma Dharma Samiti and the 47th conference organizing committee held detailed discussion over the matter and adopted resolution to reschedule the dates of the event responding to the request made by the UBPO and BKWAC for the same. UBPO and BKWAC have extended thanks to the Sodou Brahma Dharma Samiti and the organizing committee for their response and initiative.
