Nagaon: Nagaon Superintendent of Police (SP) Anand Mishra has alleged and warned that some anti-social elements in the Juria area have been collecting money from the common people in the name of police.

Warning such people to stop indulging in such things, the SP on Wednesday also appealed to the people to inform them, whenever they come across such illegal activities.

Stating that no one could buy the Nagaon Police he said, "We will take stringent steps against such brokers. I appealed to the people to inform me or the local police station Officer-in-Charge (OC). These brokers are trying to malign the police image. We will not let it happen."

SP Mishra further added that these brokers have no relation with the police and hence the people should not trust them.

He also said that the police busted a prostitution racket based in Juria and arrested three people who are involved with the illicit act.

Notably, SP Mishra has a good name of being strict against all kinds of crimes and criminals.
