TEZPUR: As part of a special initiative by the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Manvendra Pratap Singh, personal hygiene kits are being distributed among all people arriving from outside the State at the Zonal Health Screening Centre set up at Tezpur University.

All persons arriving in Tezpur will have to go through a registration process after which their swab samples are collected and sent for COVID-19 testing and they are sent for institutional quarantine to any of the several facilities set up for the purpose by the administration.

The step by the Deputy Commissioner comes after it came to his notice that people who had travelled back to the State leaving all of their belongings behind were facing inconvenience due to lack of these basic facilities.

Each personal hygiene kit comprises one mosquito net, a disposable bed sheet, a sanitizer, two disinfectant soaps, toothpaste and toothbrush, two packets of detergent powder, mosquito repellent, candles, matchbox and two masks.
