Sonitpur district administration declares 3 areas as corona containment zones

TEZPUR: In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive patient Bubul Deka (40) of Kamarchuburi, Ward No-18, Tezpur, Biswajt Bora Path under Tezpur PS, and in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 in the area, the Sonitpur district administration has declared the area as containment zone w.e.f. 7.30 PM of June 8 and the area has been sealed by the administration.

The containment zone is surrounded by the residence of Nipen Hazarika to the north, residence of Jayanta Talukdar to the east, residence of Arun Kalita to the west and Agnigarh Bidya Path to the south. There will be a buffer zone of radius 5 km around the containment zone.

Any unauthorized entry and exit to and from the notified containment zone is barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited.

Banti Sahu (23) and two children aged 5.6 years and 7.6 years of Saru Pakhiajhar, Binduguri, Railway Station Road under Tezpur PS also tested positive for COVID-19 and in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 in the area, the Sonitpur district administration has declared the area as containment zone w.e.f. 8 pm of June 8 and the area has been sealed by the administration. The containment zone is surrounded by Sitala Mandir to the north, PHE Water Supply Pump House to the east, Binduguri Main Road to the west and paddy field of Hem Sharma to the South.

Also, after two more persons -Ramu Munda (27) and Ashamoni Munda (20) of Khanabari Division, Hirajuli TE under Dhekiajuli PS - were found COVID-19 positive, the district administration has sealed the area and declared it as containment zone until further order. The containment zone is marked by Gangapur FV to the north, Gormora Centre to the east, Hirajuli TE to the west and Khonabari Division to the South.

There will be a buffer zone of radius 5 km around the two containment zones. Any violation of the order will attract action under provisions of the Assam COVID-19 Regulation, 2020, the Disaster Management Act 2005, the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other relevant laws of the nation..
