Sonitpur District Judiciary to observe platinum jubilee of Gauhati High Court

TEZPUR: The District Judiciary, Sonitpur will observe the platinum jubilee of the Gauhati High Court with a lecture on law followed by a cultural programme on April 5, 2023 to be held at Tezpur College, Tezpur.

Director of DRL, DRDO, Tezpur, Dr DV Kamboj, Principal of Tezpur College, Dr Jyoti Kamal Hazarika, Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Deba Kumar Mishra and other invited guests will grace the occasion.

The lecture series on the occasion will cover various topics such as laws relating to child marriage, role of advocates in administering justice, sexual harassment of women at the workplace, role of judiciary in protecting constitutional rights of citizens, gender sensitization, among others.

Senior officials of the Sonitpur district judiciary, District and Sessions Judge, Chatra Bhukhan Gogoi, Additional District and Sessions Judge, N Goswami, and others will speak on various topics at the lecture. This will be followed by a cultural programme.

As part of the platinum jubilee celebration, various other events such as legal awareness programmes on child marriage and women empowerment in various places across the district along with a plantation drive have also been planned.
