Special campaign for PM KISAN beneficiaries organized in Sonitpur district

Tezpur: As part of a special initiative under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, steps have been taken to provide Kisan Credit Cards to all eligible beneficiaries of PM KISAN in Sonitpur district, informed Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh at a press conference held at his office chamber on Thursday in the presence of District Agriculture Officer Prakash Bora, DDM, NABARD, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Manager, UCO Bank, Ranenjit Dutta, and others.

The drive, which began on February 8, will continue till February 23, during which all those beneficiaries who have been receiving Rs 6000 incentive under PM KISAN will be able to apply for Kisan Credit Cards and avail credit under KCC, he further informed. So far, 65,216 farmers have received benefits of PM KISAN in Sonitpur district.

Moreover, all those farmers who already have KCC cards will be able to apply for admissible enhanced limit for livestock and fisheries and other allied agricultural activities under this scheme for which they have to approach their respective bank branches. Farmers with inactive KCC cards may also approach their bank branches for reactivation as well as sanction of fresh limit.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all PM-KISAN beneficiaries, who do not have an active KCC loan account, to approach the bank branch in which their PM KISAN money is credited and apply for the same by filling up the application form. The beneficiaries will also need to furnish their land record details, as well as details of crops sown by them along with valid ID documents. A District-level Bankers’ Meet was also held at the District Library auditorium in this connection on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh in presence of senior district administration officials. The Deputy Commissioner instructed all bank officials present to facilitate early disposal of all such applications received on a mission mode.

Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner has directed all concerned to hold special gaon sabhas at the gram panchayat level in the presence of panchayat representatives, lot mandals, agriculture extension officers along with bank sakhis under NRLM who will create awareness among the farmers about the benefits of the scheme and guide and help the farmers to apply and avail the same. PM KISAN beneficiaries can get in touch with their nearest bank branch or ADO for more information and they can apply for the scheme through their nearest bank branches or Common Service Centres.
