Special DGP GP Singh visits Vineet Bagaria's residence in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: Assam Police Special DGP (Law & Order) GP Singh on Monday visited the residence of deceased animal activist Vineet Bagaria in Dibrugarh. Talking to media after meeting the family members of deceased Vineet Bagaria, the Special DGP said, " It is very sad that such an incident took place in Dibrugarh, I express my deepest condolence. We will not allow 'Baahubali culture' in any city of the State. We have issued several instructions in last 2 days to every police station to take action against search criminals who violate law."

"We have discussed the progress of the investigation in the recent incident of Dibrugarh and directed to nab the two remaining accused and their associates who are connected to the recent case. We are issuing a 'Look Out' circular against them so that they cannot escape," GP Singh stated.

The Special DGP said, "We have also instructed to bring all such cases which took place in last 2 years to the case diary to strengthen the case diary so that we can submit a strong chargesheet. Dibrugarh police have been instructed to submit the charge sheet of this case within 60 days. We will provide all possible help in connection with their civil disputes to the family."

"I am apologizing for the mistakes done by the local police in this case. We are committed to end the 'Baahubali culture' from the state. Prima facie, there is no explanation by the Officer in-charge of Dibrugarh police station for his negligence. He has been immediately transferred and the new officer will join tomorrow. The mandate to the new OC is clear, to take strongest possible action against the 'muscle man'," GP Singh told media persons.

Vineet Bagaria, a noted animal activist, hung himself to death on Thursday at his residence at Shani Mandir road in Dibrugarh. Before his death, Vineet had self recorded a video where he accused Baidullah Khan, Sanjay Sharma and Nishant Sharma of physically and mentally torturing him and his family over a piece of rental property.
