TAMULPUR: The 64th Bn of Sashastra Sima Bal (SSB), Barama, organized a free medical civic action and veterinary civic action programme on Monday in the AOR of BOP, Darranga at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ground, Palashbari village in Tamulpur district. During this programme, Sandeep Poonia, Deputy Commandant, village headman Monu boro, Dr. Chandan Talukder CVO, Dr semunul, school students, local villagers and SSB personnel of the 64th Bn were present.

In the free medical check-up camp, 206 people and 376 livestock were treated and free medicines were also distributed among them. In addition, Dr. Chandan Talukder, CVO, SHQ SSB Rangia briefed the villagers about various animal seasonal diseases and gave appropriate suggestions for prevention. The locals were also made aware of certain veterinary issues to help them with health issues concerning their cattle, poultry and pigs. Deputy Commandant of 64th Bn SSB Barama Sandeep Poonia said that SSB has been organizing civic action programmes in border area villages to help local and poor villagers of border areas where adequate medical facilities are not available.
