State Chief Secretary Sanjay Krishna held Meet to review stock of essential commodities

Dibrugarh: State Chief Secretary Sanjay Krishna, during a review meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on April 13, called upon the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dhemaji and Chariedeo to take necessary steps for maintaining uninterrupted supply line for all essential commodities in their respective districts by assessing the works of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, besides other aspects related with the health sectors.

The meeting, attended by DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Additional Chief Secretaries Jishnu Baruah and Sayeedin Abbashi and IGP, Special Cell, Assam Police, Hiren Nath, also reviewed stock position of essential commodities like potato, onion and rice and underlined on formulation of necessary work plan to avoid any crisis of such items in their respective districts.

The meeting further asked the Deputy Commissioners to complete embankments of Irrigation Departments before the ensuing rainy season by issuing necessary permission to contractors concerned for engaging machineries and labourers. Similar instruction was also issued for resumption of works in tea estates by adhering social distancing, cleanliness and others protocol of COVID-19.

DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, while addressing the meeting, called upon the SPs to monitor the post COVID-19 situation and maintain strict vigil on the post lockdown situation and asked ground-level police officers and employees to maintain well-knit coordination with the gaon buras or headmen of villages. He also directed all SPs to keep a close eye on inflow of immigrant labourers by formulating a data based record on such migration of labourers from outside.
