State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reviews COVID situation in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: State Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Golaghat on Friday evening and enquired about the COVID-19 patients in Golaghat COVID-19 Hospital and also reviewed the facilities in the hospital. The minister was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Atul Bora and Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa. Sarma also held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, health officials and other top officials of the district. LatermHimantaBiswaSarma, while addressing the media, said that new policies had been taken to tackle the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the State and that the process would continue till a vaccine for coronavirus was available. In reply to a question, Sarma said that a COVID-19 positive person could go for home isolation but it should be ensured that aged persons should not be there and separate toilet must also be ensured. He further said that to back the small business establishments and street vendors, the State Government had taken up a scheme named ArunodoiAchoni where every family would avail Rs 1,000 per month and this scheme would be launched this month.
