State-level workshop on tobacco control held in Tezpur

TEZPUR. A state-level workshop on tobacco control for district officials, jointly organized by The International Union against Tuberculosis & Lung disease (The UNION) and the State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC), Assam, was held in Tezpur.

The event which was attended by nodal officers from 16 district tobacco control cells in addition to officials from the education departments witnessed lively discussions on issues like the tobacco burden, ToFEI guidelines, vendor licensing & the COPTA Act. Madhurima Das, Additional SP (Headquarters) Sonitpur, Dr. Dwijen Das, Assistant Professor of Medicine, TMCH & Dr. P.K. Bora, Director NERIWALM were the distinguished guests who attended the event.
