GOLAGHAT: The International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the premises of the 142 Bn, CRPF, Jonakinagar, Golaghat, Assam. The event was graced by the presence of CRPF women personnel, local residents, members of the Brahma Kumaris, and teachers from Gurukul Global Academy.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 was ‘Rights, Equality, and Empowerment for All Women.’ The objective was to encourage every woman to contribute towards a more just and equitable future.
Dr Api Bagra, CMO (SG), Sugeeta, w/o Senthil Kumar G, Second-in-Command, Sonam Kumari, w/o Ravi Shankar, Deputy Commandant, Priyanka, w/o Amit Kumar Gupta, Assistant Commandant, along with the Chief Administrator of Brahma Kumaris Neepa, Deep Shikha, and other Brahma Kumaris sisters, as well as teachers from Gurukul Global Academy and local women enlightened the attendees on various topics. Dr Api Bagra, CMO (SG), emphasized the significance of women’s health, the Brahma Kumaris spoke about spiritual education, and the teachers from Gurukul Global Academy highlighted the importance of women’s education.
To mark the occasion, various competitions were organized for women, including mehndi design, solo dance, group dance, food presentation, fashion show, and musical chairs. A jury panel evaluated the competitions and awarded prizes to the first, second, and third winners in addition to the consolation prizes to all the participants.
The 142 Bn expressed gratitude to all the women who participated in the International Women’s Day 2025 celebrations. Special thanks were extended by Mohinder Kumar (Commandant), Senthil Kumar G (Second-in-Command), Santosh Kumar Sinha (Deputy Commandant), Ravishankar (Deputy Commandant), Amit Kumar Gupta (Assistant Commandant), along with other officers and personnel.
NAGAON: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Sati Radhika Mahila Tirtha, a sister organization of Asom Satra Mahasabha, celebrated the day with great enthusiasm at the Gopal Dev Temple premises located at Fauzdaripatty in Nagaon town today.
The programme, which aimed to promote women’s empowerment and upliftment, was attended by over a hundred women from various parts of the district. The event began with the hoisting of the flag by the organization’s President Dr Nirada Mahanta and the programme was mentored by Dipali Mahanta, Secretary of Sati Radhika Mahila Tirtha.
The women participants shared their thoughts on women’s empowerment and upliftment, highlighting the importance of education, health, and economic independence. The event also featured cultural programmes, including traditional Assamese songs, Diha Naam, Satriya dances, and games. As a part of the celebration, a poetry recitation session was also held, where 10 selected poets recited their original poems on the theme ‘Women and Poetry.’ The organization also felicitated noted social worker and mother figure Kamala Goswami.
The annual magazine of Sati Radhika Mahila Tirtha, ‘Shantijan,’ was also ceremonially released by noted writer Anjali Mahanta. The cultural programme was initiated with lighting of 10 earthen lamps to mark the organization’s 10th anniversary by retired teacher and social worker Urmila Devi.
The event was attended by women from all walks of life, who came together to celebrate the spirit of womanhood and promote women’s empowerment.
DHEKIAJULI: International Women’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Hugrajuli Tea Estate and Dhekiajuli town by Warriors NGO and Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, focusing on gender equality, education, and women’s rights.
At Hugrajuli, Warriors, a Google-recognized NGO, organized a street play and an awareness meeting on female foeticide and women’s empowerment. Central Secretary Suswapna Hazarika emphasized education’s role, stating, “An educated daughter builds an educated family.”
In Dhekiajuli, Lekhika Samaroh Samiti held a cultural and discussion programme, with speeches by Tulika Saikia and Polima B Chetia highlighting women’s independence and rights. Both events left a lasting impact on attendees, promoting awareness and empowerment.
DEMOW: Under the patronage of Demow Sanmilit Mahila Samaj and in association with Brihattar Barua Changmai Gaon, International Women’s Day was observed in Barua Changmai Maajor Chuk Naam Ghar premises today. On the occasion, the flag was hoisted by Runu Dutta Borah, President of Sanmilita Nari (Women) Samaj Demow. Different programmes and competitions were organized on the day. In the open session, the prizes were distributed among the winners.
