Statue of Pulwama martyr Maneswar Basumatary unveiled at Kalbari village

Tamulpur: A statue of martyr Maneswar Basumatary at Kalbari village under Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa was unveiled by Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary and Baksa DC Ranjan Sarma on Friday. Maneswar Basumatary, a head constable of CRPF lost his life on February 14, 2019, at Pulwama of Jammu and Kashmir in a crucial attack of terrorists. As a mark of respect, a statue was constructed at the premises of his house at Kalbari village and on the day of his death anniversary, the statue was inaugurated today in presence of CRPF officers, Superintendent of Police Pratik Bijoy Kumar Thube along with many officers and local people.

After the inaugural program, family members along with CRPF officials paid him floral tributes. MP Biswajit Daimary said that a big statue will also be constructed at Tamulpur subdivisional town on Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan international link road as a mark of respect to the martyr.
