Strict vigilance to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Karbi Anglong

DONKAMUKAM: With two new COVID-19 positive cases so far in West Karbi Anglong district of Habaipur area under Kheroni PS currently under treatment in Guwahati and some positive cases being detected in Hojai district, the district administration has intensified strict vigilance operating system at entry and exit points between the two districts.

In this regard, a meeting was held at the DC's conference hall, Hamren on Friday. The meeting was presided over by local MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Sayyad Isfaqur Rahman, the Superintendent of Police and others. The meeting discussed the formation of Home Quarantine Management Committee and its preparedness in each of the nine MAC constituencies to monitor the people under home quarantine and supply of food for them. The committee will be led by the local MAC as chairman, BDO of the area as secretary while VDC chairman of the respective constituency, government gaon burhas, ANM nurses and ASHA workers will be members. The administration asked people to comply with lockdown guidelines or face punishment as per the law.
