GOLAGHAT: A tense situation prevailed at Golaghat after a Class VIII student from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya situated at Chinataly in Golaghat went missing on July 26.

Even after 11 days, the missing child has not been traced. A Class VII student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Golaghat, Ujjal Das and resident of Bilgaon under Dhansiri subdivision of the Golaghat district, has been missing since July 26.

As per information given by his mother, on July 23, they dropped Ujjal Das in the hostel of Navodaya Vidyalaya in Golaghat. On July 26, the authority of Navodaya Vidyalaya informed Ujjal's parents that he was missing from the school campus. After that, his parents lodged a complaint at Golaghat Police station.

Meanwhile, Anuchuchit Jati Yuva Chatra Parishad submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Golaghat to search for the missing student immediately.
