HOJAI: Amid summer vacations, in a bid to educate students on the significance of environmental protection and sustainable practices, an environmental awareness programme was organized at Sankardev Vidya Niketan, Dakhin Vidyanagar in Hojai on Monday. The programme included various activities like talk-interaction and practical demonstrations, lecture demonstrations focusing on issues such as pollution, waste management, water conservation, forest and wildlife, and the need for conservation.

Initiated by the resource person, Dr Prodip Kumar Sahoo, Representative, Enviroculture Conservation Foundation, the event aimed to instil a sense of responsibility and inspire participants to take action towards a greener planet with small steps for a better future at an individual’s level.

A plantation programme was also conducted jointly by all the participants in the school campus as an inseparable part of the van mahotsav.

In the programme, a total of 70 participants attended that included students, teachers, the Range officer of KV range and his team, Head of the institution Tapan Sarma, Representative of school managing committee Arjun Sen, among others. All the participants committed to follow the activities for the good health of the environment.
