Students from Gauripur Girls' HS School participate in biodiversity conservation activities
On Friday, students from Gauripur Girls’ Higher Secondary School took part in various biodiversity conservation activities at the Dr. Pannalal Oswal Botanical Garden on the outskirts of Dhubri.

DHUBRI: On Friday, students from Gauripur Girls' Higher Secondary School took part in various biodiversity conservation activities at the Dr. Pannalal Oswal Botanical Garden on the outskirts of Dhubri. In a day-long programme, students took part in the interactive discussion about biodiversity and conservation, identification of more than 100 herbal plants and their uses, the identification of more than 60 different trees and creative herbarium art competition.
Principal of Dhubri Bholanath College, Dr. Dhruba Chakrabortty, Prof Puranjoy Ripun from department of botany of Bholanath College, teachers, Pratima Kalita, Rumpi Seal, Moumita Roy from Gauripur Girls' Higher Secondary School while Mrinmoy Deb Adhikary from School Management Committe participated in the deliberation and spoke at a length on the importance of conservation of biodiversity and identification of various herbs,shrubs and trees all around.
Earlier, at the advent of the programme, Prof Dhruba Kumar Mahato from Assam Senior Secondary College explained the objective of the meeting and guided the students in various activities in the programmes.
