Students union body of Nowgong College boycott classes for indefinite time

NAGAON: Massive protests and uproar against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 by various student bodies of various higher educational institutions of the district continued even on Thursday in Nagaon. When some student bodies staged sit-in, others boycotted classes for indefinite time.

The students’ union body of Nowgong College on Thursday staged sit-in for 11 hours against the suicidal bill and slammed the BJP-led alliance government for its deadly initiatives to pass the bill. The students’ body warned the government that if the bill was passed or made a law, Assam would turn into a bowl of fire and the government would not be able to extinguish that fire. Simultaneously, students of Nowgong Polytechnic and Nagaon Law College on Thursday also boycotted classes for an indefinite time.
