LAKHIMPUR: "Success can be achieved by the one who sets his mind on achieving success. One should give up when one fails. He must accept the failure as a good lesson to restart his journey to achieve success," said Padma Shri Dr Uddhav Bhorali in Lakhimpur.

The internationally acclaimed innovator and scientist said so while delivering a lecture organized by the Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) on Tuesday. In the event, Dr. Bhorali delivered his lecture on a topic 'The innovative field for self-employment and its prospect'.

The event commenced with Dr. Arabinda Rajkhowa, the Head of the Department of Assamese, in the chair. Explaining the objective of the programme, Dr. Rajkhowa said that multi-purpose and vocational education system must be adopted in order to mitigate the burning unemployment problem. "In this regard, leadership of a personality like Padma Shri Dr. Uddhab Kumar Bhorali can bring revolutionary change to the society," Dr. Rajkhowa added.

On the other hand, Dr. Bhorali, while delivering an invaluable lecture on the designated topic, said, "The division of streams in education as arts, science or commerce is just necessary for achieving the degree or the educational certificates only. Such division is not important in the innovative field and self-employment."

Sharing the experiences of his life, Dr. Bhorali asserted that people at first insulted him by saying that he was just busy in meaningless works. But he did not give up his endeavour and achieved success in the innovative field.

During the event, the scientist taught the students the easy techniques of producing green tea, mehendi, wheat grass powder. A group of students of the department, along with Professor Dhanaranjan Kalita, Dr. Hemanta Sarmah, Munmi Dutta, Dr. Dheeraj Pator, Paresh Khanikar, Asim Saikia took part in discussion with the scientist during the interactive session of the event. The Department of Assamese, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) has invited the scientist to deliver lecture on a stipulated topic every week.
