Suspecting jihadi link behind the murder of a Bajrang Dal cadre in Karimganj’s Lowairpua area on Monday
SILCHAR: Suspecting jihadi link behind the murder of a Bajrang Dal cadre in Karimganj's Lowairpua area on Monday, Viswa Hindu Parishad demanded NIA investigation as the murder was a part of a greater design spread all over the country. Sambhu Koiri, the 16 year old Bajrang Dal cadre was brutally killed by another youth named Selimuddin on Monday night. Sambhu was on his way home from a three-day training camp for Bajrang Dal in Hailakandi. As he alighted from the bus at Lowairpua market, Selimuddin attacked him with a dagger.
Sambhu succumbed to his injuries. The incident triggered much communal tension in Patharkandi constituency. Police had however arrested Selimuddin. In this backdrop, the VHP linked the incident with jehadi activities. Leaders of the Hindu organisation Gopal Bhattacharya, Santanu Naik, Swapan Suklabaidya suspected that Muslim outfits like IPF was behind the murder of Sambhu. In other parts of the country too, Islamic fundamentalist group were trying to eliminate Hindus, they said. Bajrang Dal cadres were the prime targets of the jihadis, the VHP leaders pointed out. They demanded immediate hand over of the murder case to NIA as this agency had been investing the cases of Islamic terror attack in the entire country.
