SVANidhi Mahotsav organized in Assam's Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon: SVANidhi Mahotsav, a celebration of Atma Nirbhar Street vendors, was organized by Bongaigaon Municipal Board, Assam on July 28 at the Walking Zone (Bisharjan Ghat) in front of Bongaigaon College under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM). It was a three-day programme which kick-started on July 26 with the staging of street play on the lives of street vendors at various locations of Bongaigaon town. On July 27, a health camp for street vendors, Harijans, SHG members along with COVID booster dose vaccination and diagnosis of cervical cancer for women was organized by Bongaigaon Municipal Board in association with District Health Society, Bongaigaon; voluntary organization 'The East Story', Lower Assam Hospital & Research Centre, Bongaigaon and Swagat Hospital, Bongaigaon. Free sanitary pads were also distributed among the women street vendors and SHG members. Drawing and dance competitions among children were also organized in the evening.
