Swab Samples of 12 people of Lakhimpur sent for COVID-19 test

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur District Health Department on Sunday sent swab samples of 11 people of the district who attended the Athgaon Masjid meet on March 12 in Guwahati, to the Regional Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, ICMR, RMRC, Lahowal of Dibrugarh district.

These 11 people were identified by Lakhimpur Police and the list was intimated to the District Health Department on Saturday. The District Health Department collected their swab samples for coronavirus test on Saturday night.

On the other hand, one person of the district willingly submitted her swab sample for COVID-19 test as she has been suffering from cough. The District Health Department sent this swab sample too for COVID-19 test in the said ICMR. Including this, the District Health Department sent a total of 12 samples for COVID-19 test on Saturday.

The report of the second swab sample test of Babu Ali, the COVID-patient of the district, was intimated to District Health Department on Sunday from the ICMR. The report appeared negative for coronavirus in the second test. The Nizamuddin Jamaat attendee had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 4 and then he was admitted in in the isolation ward of Telahi Model Hospital, the COVID-19 Hospital of Lakhimpur district. As per report from the District Health Department, a test of blood sample of the patient will be done after a couple of days in order to diagnose his complete recovery.

On the other hand, the number of people advised for home quarantine in Lakhimpur district increased up to 4,119 on Sunday. The Health Department stamped 26 more people of the district for home isolation on the same day.

At present, two persons of the district, including the COVID-19 patient, are in the isolation wards of the COVID-19 Hospital while a total of 51 people have been kept in mass quarantine facility in various establishments of North Lakhimpur town. Out of them, 13 people are in the COVID-19 Hospital, 17 are in North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital, six are in Punjab Hotel and 15 are in Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahavidyalaya campus.
