Swachh Bharat summer internship programme at JB College

Jorhat, June 30: A month-long Swachh Bharat Internship programme was flagged off by Dr. Bimal Borah, the Principal of JB College.

The programme is the first of its kind and will continue for a month. It was kicked off on Saturday in the college main entrance in presence of Prof Nazrana, the in-charge of summer internship programme, organized by SBSI and NSS Unit from JB College (autonomous).

The participating members held placards about extinction of various species and even threat of extinction of the human race. The participating teams will continue with their activities under Baghchung block in Jorhat for a month.

This is the first summer internship programme under Swachha Bharat Abhiyan meant for students from various colleges under the Central Government scheme that was recently launched by the Ministry of HRD through the University Grants Commission. “It has to be taken on a serious note for society’s uplift,” said Dr. Bimal Borah, the Principal of the college.
