Swahid Kushal Konwar remembered in Jorhat by Freedom Fighters’ Association

JORHAT: Freedom Fighters’ Association, Jorhat branch, Open Air Jail authority, Jorhat Central Jail authority and prisoners paid tribute and attended an all-prayer meeting on Independence Day at the tombs of Swahid Kushal Konwar and Kamala Miri who were hanged in Jorhat Jail and later consigned to flames at the premises of the Mahendra Nagar Open Air Jail beside the Central Jail, Jorhat.

The Jail Superintendent of the Open Air Jail recalled the two great freedom fighters and many others from the district who had laid down their lives for the sake of the nation. Around 22 prisoners also took part in the hour-long prayer meet.
