Tangla Municipal Board (TMB) carries out eviction drive

TANGLA: On Saturday, the Tangla Municipal Board (TMB) continued its eviction campaigns against street vendors who were illegally encroaching on footpaths and roadside areas along the Mangaldoi-Bhutiachang road in Tangla town, Udalguri district. The eviction drive was carried out as per the complaints received. The eviction drive was supervised by Harisinga Revenue Circle Officer, Manisha Nath and Tangla Municipal Board JE , Sadananda Sahariah. The signboard and hoardings encroaching on the roads were also cleared with the help of excavators. The team also seized all items that were available in these illegal shops. Earlier, the TMB had issued an advisory against setting up such stalls in the future, asserting that it is illegal to set up shops on walkways. "The eviction drive was aimed at freeing up space illegally occupied by traders," said a source.
