DIBRUGARH: Various tea estate model schools were inaugurated by Cabinet ministers of Assam in Dibrugarh district on Wednesday. Chabua, Sepon, Teenali (Naharkatiya), Dilli (Naharkatiya) and Dirial (Duliajan) Tea Estate Model Schools were inaugurated. The Chabua T.E. Model School was inaugurated by Guardian Minister of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, Atul Bora, Sepon T.E. Model School was inaugurated by Power and Tourism Minister Bimal Bora, Teenali and Dilli TE Model Schools was inaugurated by Transport, Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and Dirial T.E.Model School was inaugurated by Minister of Welfare of Tea Tribes and Labour Welfare Minister, Sanjay Kishan.

The Chabua TE Model School was inaugurated by the cabinet minister and Guardian Minister of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, Atul Bora in presence of Lakhimpur Lok Sabha MP Pradan Barua, MLA of Chabua, Ponakan Baruah and Dibrugarh DC Biswajit Pegu.

A school magazine named Prasir Patrika and a smart class were also inaugurated. The Head Teacher welcomed the chief guest, and other guests, and officers and representatives of the education department and other departments. He said that after inauguration of this school, many dropouts had returned to complete their education.

The DC said that such Model Schools were an inspiration and he expected that the students would perform well. Ponakan Baruah said that Model Schools would provide good education in the tea garden areas and in future he expected engineers, doctors and even bureaucrats from this school. He further added that the government would further try to improve the quality of lives of the tea garden people.

Guardian Minister of Dibrugarh district, Atul Bora said that he was pleased to inaugurate the tea estate model school and overwhelmed to see the crowd. He too assured that the government would take necessary steps to uplift the tea garden people.
