Tea Garden Workers Protest against CAA (Citizenship (Amendment) Act)

Naharkotia: Naharkotia regional unit of All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA) and Naharkotia Tea Estate Branch of Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS), in association with the local people, staged a three-hour long sit-in at Naharkotia Tea Estate playground on Sunday to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. Over hundreds of tea garden workers and local people, while participating in the protest, raised several anti-CAA and anti-government slogans. AASU Naharkotia regional unit president Rituparna Gogoi, AASAA Dibrugarh district secretary Monoj Orang, AASAA Naharkotia regional unit secretary Jagannath Nirmolia and other leaders spoke against the contentious Act and expressed their opposition to it.
