DIBRUGARH: The Tea Tribes Advasi Autonomous Council Demand Committee, Assam (TTAACDCA) has demanded at least 30 per cent job reservation in government jobs for educated youths of the tea tribes community.

Addressing mediapersons on Monday, TTAACDCA leaders Israel Nanda, Ropesh Gowala and Nabin Keot stated, "Minimum 30 per cent government job should be reserved for educated sons and daughters from 1 crore tea tribe population scattered in the entire State." The TTAACDCA leaders further called upon all political parties to offer tickets to people belonging to the tea tribes community in the 2021 Assembly election.

Condemning the State Government's failure to announce Rs 351 as daily wage of tea labourers as promised earlier, the leaders demanded its early implementation. Welcoming the State Government's decision for constituting separate autonomous councils for Moran, Mottock and Koch Rajbangshi communities, they demanded similar announcement of autonomous council for tea tribes community before the assembly election, to be slated in the middle part of 2021.
